Zaman Ekes Out Win Over Khan at Exhibition Match

The Cross Courts exhibition game between Shahjahan Khan (current world ranking 103) and Farhan Zaman (current world ranking 47) was a great success, with Zaman eking out the win over Khan 3-1.

“The match was incredibly exciting,” reported Cross Courts Pro Gary Gargan. Zaman carried an early lead, winning the first two games. Khan fought back to win the third game and then Zaman closed out the match with a win on the fourth.

In attendance were many Cross Courts members, as well as participants in the Squash Busters program based in Boston.

Prior to the game, Cross Courts Pro Gargan joined Zaman for a doubles match against Cross Courts colleague Alex Ginman and Shah.

“It seemed like the ball would never die,” recounted Gargan, noting the length of the points in their exhibition doubles match on the Cross Courts singles court.

The exhibition match took place on February 11. Shah Khan is a new member to Cross Courts, along with his father Zarak, formerly ranked number 8 in the world. Shah was number 1 in the US as a U-19 and his world ranking has been as high as 86.
